Over the weekend I got the opportunity to participate in my first fishing tournament at Alcova Reservoir - the 2015 Tough Man Tournament, hosted by the North Platte Walleyes Unlimited.

Weather wasn't too bad during the day of fishing, winds caused a bit of chop on the main lake.  But for those of us who went up into the canyon early, the race to find your favorite spot was intense - to say the least.

I want to say a huge thanks to all the volunteers that helped make this year's Tough Man Tournament possible, to the North Platte Walleyes Unlimited as well as to the Casper Boat Club for hosting the welcome social and dinner, letting us launch at their club and for hosting the awards following the fishing!

The friends I made and the laughs we shared were well worth the price of admission.  My team didn't finish in the money, however I feel we did better than a majority of the record number of entries for this year's tournament. There were 64 boats and 178 anglers in this year's competition.  My team caught 4 walleye (biggest was 18 inches) and we caught twice as many trout, but nothing big enough to put us near the top of the leaderboard.

Congratulations to this year's winners!!
