Three people were taken in ambulances from the scene of Monday's crash on Interstate 25 near the Beverly Street exit in Casper.

The crash involved 16 vehicles, including one commercial truck and one Natrona County School District bus, according to Wyoming Highway Patrol Lt. Clint Haver. No children were on the bus at the time of the crash, but Haver says the bus driver was one of the three people who were injured.

Haver says it did not appear as though anyone involved had life-threatening injuries.

The crash blocked traffic for some two and a half hours while first responders cleared the scene.

Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Haver says snowfall and slick roads likely played a role.

"As always, any time you have those icy conditions, just slow down," Haver told K2 Radio News on Tuesday. "That's the key."
