This is not a list of every boot store in the entire state. That would be a small book. This is, however, a nice posting on some of our favorites.

If you're like me and prefer to make try them on in a store for fit, you don't want to take your chances by ordering boots online. If you are fine with that, however, pintoranch.com has great tips for what to look for (and look out for).

In Wyoming, depending on your town, it may be easier to find boot stores than shoe stores. Of course, many shoe stores in the Cowboy State can certainly also sell you a pair of boots. And the same applies from Walmart to Kohls.

Now, on to some real brick and mortar Wyoming boot shops:

Wayne’s Boot Shop on Sheridan Drive in Cody is family owned and operated since the 1950s.

The Boot Barn At one of two Cheyenne locations it's still known as “Wrangler” (on Depot Plaza. Boot Barn has a total of 11 Wyoming locations and is now the largest Western retailer, which has bought other chains like Sheplers.

Hat Creek Trading Post on Bridge St in Saratoga really looks like an old trading post on the outside, but you’ll find some great stuff inside.

Martindale’s Western Wear in Laramie is the town’s only locally owned Western retailer. If you don’t want those fancy-schmancy, expensive boots, this is your place. Note their hours on Grand Avenue are just 9 am to 5:30 pm.

Moss Saddles Boots & Tack on Yellowstone Hwy in Mills is just what it sounds like, and I like the sound of it. It's not the only place for boots in the Casper area, but it has my favorite name.

Jackson Bootlegger on East Broadway in Jackson may not be truly cowboy boots, to be honest, but they have some really cool cowgirl boots.

Double Js Boot Shop is on Main in Riverton. Now this seems to be a real establishment for boots. You won’t even find a fancy website for Double Js.
