A Different James Holmes Sets The Record Straight

As facts continue to fly in about the life of 24-year-old Dark Knight Shooter James Holmes, people are taking to their Facebook pages to find out all they can about the alleged mass murderer. Unfortunately,those who share the same name as Holmes are being accosted and accused via their FB pages.

One man in particular has bore the brunt of the Facebook universe. 22 year old James Holmes, of Denver Colorado, has had his Facebook page blowing up because he shares the same name and state as the alleged shooter. After numerous friend requests and messages, Holmes took to his page to set the record straight.

“I appreciate the fact that you are trying to become better-informed about the occurrences last night in Aurora, but you have been somewhat mislead, in that I am not the man who did it. I am not a 24-year-old gun-slinging killer from Aurora, I am a 22-year-old book-slinging mass eater from Littleton.”

Additionally, Holmes’ girlfriend, Melissa Corsaut, had also received numerous requests and messages, asking if she was dating the shooter. According to Corsaut, she had been contacted via phone-calls and private messages from strangers and potential employers, asking about her relationship with Holmes, whom she had just started dating on July 12 of this year.

Holmes is currently living in Littleton, Colorado- a mere 27-minute drive from where the shootings took place. He is originally from Lakewood, Colorado, and graduated from the University of Colorado in 2011 with a degree in history and English. Because of the confusion, he has blocked all friend requests.

Holmes ends his post by stating that “James Holmes happens to be a pretty common name, surprisingly, so try not to jump the gun. Regards, A different guy named James Holmes.”
