Every time American Idol gets down to the Top 24 contestants, like it does Tuesday night (March 1), I can't help but reminisce about all the contestants who didn't make it to the top. Like Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott. Crazy, right? Just when you think Idol is the one and only surefire path to superstardom, you realize, "No. It's not." Because if they rejected Scott (not once but twice), and now she is on top of the entire music universe, there are clearly other ways to make it very, very big. "I never got to see them (the judges). I literally performed for the production assistants and the interns, and I just didn't make it," Scott recently told Entertainment Tonight. But she doesn't hold that against them. "I'm a huge fan of the show. I think the judges are awesome. I think the talent looks great," she said of this year's Idol. Scott's band won five Grammy awards in February, including the all-genre record of the year and song of the year for "Need You Now." Kind of makes you wonder what other singers made it big without the blessing of the Idol judges.

I bet she has quite a bit of satisfaction knowing they told her "no" & now she's a superstar...in your face AI!
