Car Seat Recycle Day Scheduled For March 19th In Casper
Get those old, expired car seats and booster seats out of your garage or storage shed and drop them off at the Car Seat Recycle Day! Join the Veni Vidi Duci Robotics Team, the City of Casper and Safe Kids Wyoming on MARCH 19th between 9 AM and 3 PM at either the landfill or the Fairground Recycle Center. When you drop off a car seat, you will receive a Subway coupon and you can enter to win a brand new car seat.
Last year there were 1074 babies born in Natrona County. If each baby uses an infant car seat, a toddler car seat, and a booster seat, that means over a ten year period, 20,000 - 30,000 car seats could be thrown in the landfill. We would like to take these car seats - the #5 plastic seat, the buckles, the straps, and the fabric - to be recycled. Many of us do not know this, but there are expiration dates on car seats now. After 6-10 years, car seats expire. Drop off those old, expired car seats off to get them out of your garage and keep them out of our landfill.
