Casper College students begin a summer theatre season with Bacchae of Euripides tonight and tomorrow night at 7:30 pm and Sunday afternoon at 2 pm. The show this weekend is taken from the adaptation of Wole Soyinka. He adapted this play from Euripides’ Greek classic, leaving the story and changing the language making it more accessible to a modern audience. It is directe by Paulina Strayer.

Théâtre Brûte is a student theatre organization sponsored by the Casper College Theatre and Dance Department. The term “brûte” comes from the unconventional art form called “art brûte” or “art in the raw.” Théâtre Brûte gives students the chance to direct, design, perform in, and produce theatrical materials on their own. The 2014 summer season will be the third annual installment of the student shows here at Casper College.

Admission to every Théâtre Brûte show is free; however, donations are graciously accepted. All donations help fund student clubs in the Casper College Theatre and Dance Department.
