Spring is still weeks away, but you wouldn't know it from the prices at local area gas stations. Gas prices, which traditionally rise during spring after winter lows, are already moving their way up.

In just the last two weeks the average retail price of gas in the U.S. rose 13 cents and it looks like we'll see record highs for this time of year in the next few days.

Casper gas prices range from $2.61 for a gallon of regular at Conoco - 6688 W. Yellowstone to $2.75 a gallon most everywhere else.

What's causing the prices to jump? Many refineries are undergoing maintenance, so that's slowing their output and lowering the supply of gasoline.
