I can prove this is wrong with science, but the Internet has called out Casper, Mills and Evansville among the most dangerous Wyoming cities.

Big time disclaimer: this IS NOT MY LIST. Blame Roadsnacks. They are the ones that are spreading bad vibes about our part of Wyoming. How did we end up on their naughty list? Here are the metrics they factored into their story:

  • Violent Crimes Per Capita
  • Property Crimes Per Capita

Roadsnacks is claiming they're basing this on 2017 crime data that was just released. Right.

With all the numbers crunched, it paints a gnarly picture of Casper and the surrounding area. Casper is ranked as the seventh most dangerous with Mills at tenth and Evansville ranked first.

Now, allow me to prove this is more than a little misleading with my science. the sister site of Roadsnacks is Homesnacks. They just released their "10 Best Places to Live in Wyoming" list. Guess what? Casper makes the top 10.

I can tell you for a fact that I've lived in many parts of the country and my family has never felt safer than being in Casper, Mills and Evansville. I get many laughs out of the Roadsnacks and Homesnacks type of stuff. But, in this case take it with a big grain of salt.
