Casper police officers arrested a woman on Thanksgiving day after she allegedly became intoxicated and assaulted her husband with two knives, then threatened him with a handgun.

Lisa Shae Collins, 27, was booked into jail on recommended charges of aggravated assault and possession of a deadly weapon with unlawful intent.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, an officer responded to the 1100 Block of Park at roughly 7:45 p.m. Thursday to speak with Collins regarding an assault that had occurred between her and her husband earlier in the day.

Collins claimed that an argument had ensued between herself and her husband after they ate Thanksgiving dinner. She claimed that her husband had "smack[ed] her around," so she defended herself with a steak knife and continued to assault her. She told the officer that her husband also choked her.

Collins said that she retrieved a .380-caliber semi-automatic handgun from the bedroom in order to defend herself and told her husband that she would kill him. The husband wrestled the gun away from her and she ran off.

The officer noted that Collins, who admitted to having consumed a large amount of alcohol throughout the evening, was swaying on her feet while standing and smelled of alcohol. She had a number of injuries to her face including swelling over her left eye, dried blood on her lips and a cut inside her mouth.

The officer also found Collins's story to be very vague and lacking key details. Collins was examined by EMS and taken to Wyoming Medical Center.

When interviewed by the officer, Collins's husband said that Collins had started arguing with his stepmother. He deescalated the situation, but Collins later got mad at him and went after him with a steak knife.

The husband said he was able to wrestle the knife away from Collins, but she was still angry and retrieved a second knife from the kitchen, attempting to stab him in the neck. The husband again took the knife from Collins and, once she seemed to have calmed down, let her up from the floor. She then ran out of the residence.

The husband said he was holding his daughter when Collins returned, having retrieved the pistol from their bedroom. The husband saw her, put his daughter down and saw Collins evidently chamber a round, saying, "I'll f------ kill you!"

The man tackled Collins, knocking the gun from her hands. She later ran out through the front door, again. He told the police officer that he wasn't sure how Collins became injured, but speculated that the injuries could have resulted from his tackling her.

The husband's stepmother, who witnessed the altercation, corroborated his detailed version of events. The police officer arrested Collins.
