A Casper woman pleaded not guilty to five counts of endangering children with methamphetamine during her arraignment in Natrona County District Court on Wednesday.

Amanda R. Bagwell, 30, quietly entered the not guilty pleas before Judge Thomas Sullins.

She remains free on a $3,000 bond.

Sullins ordered Bagwell to have no contact with the alleged victims, and set her trial for May 15.

The case started in January when the Wyoming Department of Family Services notified the Natrona County Sheriff‘s Office about allegations of child endangerment with methamphetamine at a residence, according to the affidavit accompanying the charging documents. The affidavit redacted the address of the residence.

Deputies arrived to find Bagwell, another man, another woman, and four children. Three other children lived in the house but were not home when officers arrived, according to court documents.

The indictment read by Sullins indicated five children, whose birth years ranged from 2006 to 2012, were allegedly exposed to methamphetamine.

Bagwell gave a urine sample which tested positive for the drug, according to court documents.

Deputies obtained a warrant, searched the home, and found methamphetamine-related paraphernalia.

Bagwell allegedly admitted to using methamphetamine two or three times inside her vehicle during the previous three days.

The other woman who was at the home when deputies arrived said she didn’t know about the methamphetamine.
