Casper's Historic Bishop Home is Celebrating 110 Years of historic firsts in the Oil City.  If you didn't know, the Bishop Home was the first two story brick home to be built in Casper, was also the first to feature running water, electricity, and has much more urban history inside.  The Cadoma Foundation will be hosting a special Eclipse Viewing Event and tours and lunches during the Eclipse Fest Weekend.

In August 1907, the Bishop Family moved into their new home at 818 East 2nd Street. It was Casper’s first multi-story brick home and today is symbolic of the transition of Casper from a small town to a bustling urban business community in central Wyoming. To commemorate this milestone, the Cadoma Foundation, steward of the Bishop Home, is offering conveniences to welcome eclipse visitors and residents.

PARKING. Thanks to John Johnson, the Bishop Home in cooperation with the Casper Children’s Theater will run a parking lot on the corner of 2nd Street and Jefferson from Friday, August 18 to Monday, August 21. The lot is only a few blocks from the many events planned for the Eclipse celebration. Advance reservations for parking spots are available for $20.00 per space.

LUNCH. To commemorate the Bishop Home’s legacy, Casper’s cordon bleu chef Juanita Jungck, former owner of Market & More, is re-creating some of her most popular signature lunches for “grab and go” bags on Saturday, August 19, and Sunday, August 20. The gourmet lunches may be reserved, prepaid, and ready for pick up prior to the many events that are happening during total Eclipse weekend. For details on the menu and cost, visit them on Facebook or www.cadomafoundation.org. Only a limited number of lunches will be available each day.

ECLIPSE DAY. The Bishop Home is sponsoring an on property event on Eclipse day. This historic day at Casper’s Historic Home includes reserved parking, welcoming coffee and scones, a house tour, a gourmet lunch in the backyard, eclipse viewing, and a celebratory drink to the sun’s return. The number of participants is limited to ensure a memorable experience for all.

TOURS. In addition to all of the events, the Bishop Home will be open for touring from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday August 17, Saturday August 19, and Sunday, August 20.
