Casper’s Farmers Market Celebrates Season Finale Tuesday

It’s time for the summer season of the Downtown Casper Farmers Market to come to an end. Tomorrow night (Tuesday, September 17th) will be the last market of the season.
The amount of produce available continues to increase, and we look for locally grown, organic, and even heirloom vegetables to be available to market-goers.

The Market boasts a family-friendly venue where you can grab a bite of food to eat, learn about community organizations, get your face painted, and listen to local musicians. This week local favorite Chad Lore will be taking the stage. Chad Lore’s music is appealing and fun for all ages.

After this week’s market ends, the market moves indoors once a month. The Casper Winter Market takes place the first Saturday of every month, October through May in the Casper Room at the Agriculture Resource and Learning Building (2011 Fairgrounds Road). The Winter Market was created by the Wyoming Food for Thought Project, a local organization dedicated to creating a more equitable local food system, in response to the need for local growers and producers to continue reaching their customers year-round. While the concept of producing food year-round in Wyoming may seem improbable, there are meat producers, bakers, jelly makers, honey producers, and even growers who have food available year-round. We look forward to increasing the amount of locally grown and produced food to our community.
