Thursday is the kickoff of the 5th Annual Cheyenne International Film Festival (CIFF). Opening events on Thursday are free to attend and the festival continue through Sunday night.

Tickets are required for most events and are available online or at Phoenix Books & Music, 1612 Capitol Ave in downtown Cheyenne.

Everything kicks off this Thursday, May 16th with a Wyoming Showcase and Reception at the Paramount Cafe from 5p-9p and is Free and open to the public.

Program 1 – Free Community Reception and Wyoming Showcase at the Paramount Cafe

Program 2 – Call2ACTion with the HBO documentary “American Winter” sponsored by the Wyoming Children’s Action Alliance. Includes reception, film and panel discussion.

Program 3 – Home Movies and Cartoons on 16mm film free event sponsored by Bevara Digital

Program 4 - Fantasies features Nomads of Oz – a Montreal remake of the L. Frank Baum classic

Program 5 – Long Stories Short features several short films from around the world

Program 6 – Family Matters includes a feature length film Only Daughter by Wyomingite Aaron Wiederspahn

Program 7 – Magic and Misdirection. Two short films precede a live magic show by illusionist Dan Jaspersen

Program 8 - Native Experiences. The program is an eclectic triptych of three films of Native American Experiences

Program 9 – Long Stories Short II. More shorts from around the world

Program 10 – Beatgrass and Banjos. A short film featuring Jalan Crossland about banjos in the movies and local bluegrass favorite Beatgrass live!
