Three 18-year-old Cheyenne men are facing up to ten years in prison after allegedly stealing multiple firearms from a Cheyenne gun store last month.

Documents filed with the U.S. District Court of Wyoming on Wednesday say police were called to a report of a burglary at Dragoon Armory at 607 E. Lincolnway on the morning of May 30.

It was determined that the business was forcefully entered through a rear door, which leads to a storage room and a stairway to the second floor apartments.

When police attempted to contact one of the apartment tenants, they say Ian Dangler exited the apartment and quickly closed the door behind him.

Dangler reportedly told police that he didn't live at the apartment, but was invited over during the previous night by Austin Lawrence, the tenant's boyfriend. Dangler also told police that he saw multiple firearms in the apartment.

Police obtained a search warrant and found eleven pistols and three rifles in the apartment which matched those stolen in the burglary.

When interviewed, Lawrence stated that he, Dangler and Donovan Studer had left the apartment and went downstairs where Studer "pushed" open the door to the storage room.

Studer reportedly told authorities that the three were looking through boxes in the storage room when they saw the door leading to the gun store. Studer said Lawrence forced the door open, which set off the alarm, and the two grabbed multiple firearms.

Studer says the three took the firearms to the apartment and waited 20 minutes to see if the police would respond. Studer and Dangler then returned to the gun store, taking more rifles and handguns.

The three are charged with stealing a firearm from a licensed dealer and aiding and abetting. A trial date has yet to be set.
