Music, fun, and runners covered in color are on tap in Casper June 10th to raise funds battle pediatric cancer.

The Olivia Caldwell Foundation was founded in November of 2013, soon after Katie Caldwell's daughter Olivia died of brain cancer at the age of only 20 months. "We started it three weeks after she passed away to raise money for pediatric cancer research," says Caldwell, "to try and find the cure that eluded her and so many other children." Since then, the Foundation has raised more than $155,00.00 for pediatric cancer research for Children's Hospital Denver and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

The Color Dash is so named because the runners and walkers get splashed with colored dust through run, and it ends up with a color explosion at the end. Ms. Caldwell says it's more than 5K run, but a whole event full of music and fun. "It's really great for people of all ages and abilities, we have a vendor show, they do dance and hula hoop competitions, there's usually a 50/50 raffle, it's just so much fun."

The Color Dash starts at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 10th, at the Boys and Girls Club on K Street in Casper, and participants can pick up their packets before the race. You can find more information and register here.
