I am torn about girls in wrestling. My boys have been wrestling since they were 3 & 6 & now my youngest has started at 5. When they are that age, it’s not that big of a difference, but when they get older, it really becomes difficult for the young men to even know how to treat them, especially since young men are raised to never hurt a girl or touch them in in appropriate places. It’s very likely that they will do both in a wrestling match. That being said, I’ve known some very tough girls in my 9 years as a wrestling mom…many that have kicked butt against many boys & young men. Right here in Casper I know of 2 fantastic female wrestlers. The late Sarah Tolin, who went on the wrestle on a Scholarship in College until her life was sadly cut short. The other also from Casper Jessica Brenton(NC Varsity wrestler), who most likely would have been competing at State next weekend here in Casper, and most likely placed as well if it weren’t for a medical condition that has kept her from the sport for a good portion of the season. I have an incredible amount of respect for these girls that work incredibly hard to be competitive in an incredibly intense male dominated sport, but I can tell you that my advise to my boys is always forget she’s a girl on the mat and go kick her butt!

OMG… one of the worst movies of all time… I remember watching that for the first time and laughing, because I felt so bad for all those involved!! In an interveiw following the movie, Stallone said he’d never do a singing part in a movie again… and as we can all attest to.. Thank Goodness!!
