The national media doesn’t seem to be as impressed with the Wyoming Cowboys as their fans or some coaches.

Last week Wyoming received votes worth five points in both the Associated Press and Amway Coaches Poll. That put the Cowboys 33rd in the AP Poll and tied for 34th in the Coaches Poll.

New rankings came out Sunday. UW received 20 points and moved up to No. 31 in the Amway Coaches Poll. The case isn’t the same in the AP Poll. Wyoming dropped to a tie for 34th with only two points in balloting. That’s the same as Minnesota and Navy.

The Cowboys have more opportunities to impress voters in both polls. Next up is a road game against UNLV in Las Vegas Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
