Federal Judges Sentence Seven Defendants

Federal judges recently sentenced seven defendants for drug, firearms and illegal alien crimes, according to the Wyoming U.S. Attorney's Office.

Chief U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal sentenced  Traci Adelle Raymer, 32, of Evanston for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. She received 18 months imprisonment, to be followed by three years of probation. Freudenthal also ordered her to pay a $100 special assessment and $150 in restitution.

This case results from an ongoing Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces joint investigation conducted by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The program identifies, disrupts and dismantles the most serious drug trafficking, weapons trafficking and money laundering organizations, and those primarily responsible for the nation’s illegal drug supply.

Freudenthal also sentenced Loc Thi My Nguyen, 43, of Oakland, Calif., for possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Nguyen was arrested in Cheyenne. She was sentenced to time served, to be followed by two years of probation, and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment. This case was investigated by the DCI.

U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson sentenced Sean O’Neil, 35, of Cheyenne for possession of a firearm not registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record. O’Neil received one year and one imprisonment, to be followed by two years of probation. Johnson also ordered him to pay a $400 fine and a $100 special assessment. This case was investigated by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Judges also sentenced four Mexican nationals for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigated the cases.

Three of the four defendants were sentenced to time served plus 10 days imprisonment and are subject to deportation upon release from custody.

They are Herminio Garcia-Reyes, 26, who was arrested in Cheyenne; Hilda Mireya Ibarra-Avilez, 43, who was arrested in Powell; and Adrian Diaz-Angeles, 29, who was arrested in Laramie.

The fourth defendant, Martin Hernandez-Galacias, 32, was arrested in Jackson. He received six months imprisonment, and is subject to deportation upon release from custody.
