Federal Judges Sentence Three Men, One Woman

Wyoming federal judges recently sentenced three men and one woman for assault, drug and child pornography charges, according to a news release from the Wyoming U.S. Attorney's Office.

U.S. District Court Judge Scott Skavdahl sentenced  Martin James Goggles, 23, of Riverton for assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to do bodily harm. Goggles was arrested in Fort Washakie. He received two years, four months imprisonment, to be followed by three years of probation. Skavdahl also ordered him to pay a $100 special assessment and restitution in the amount of $396.26.

This case was investigated by the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Skavdahl also sentenced Lily Jenny Washington, 46, of Fort Washakie for assault resulting in serious bodily injury. She received two years, 10 months imprisonment, to be followed by three years of probation. Skavdahl also ordered Washington to pay a $100 special assessment.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Chief U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal sentenced Alonzo Cecil Burkes, 59, of Cheyenne for conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. Burkes was arrested in Laramie. He received 11 years, eight months imprisonment, to be followed by five years of probation. Freudenthal also ordered Burkes to pay a $100 special assessment and restitution in the amount of $2,500.

This case results from an ongoing Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces joint investigation conducted by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Internal Revenue Service. The program's mission identifies, disrupts and dismantles the most serious drug trafficking, weapons trafficking and money laundering organizations, and those primarily responsible for the nation’s illegal drug supply.
U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson sentenced Christopher Allen Ricketson, 33, of Las Vegas for possession of child pornography. Ricketson was arrested in Uinta County. He received seven years, four months imprisonment, to be followed by 10 years of probation. Johnson also ordered Ricketson to pay a $100 special assessment and restitution in the amount of $4,000.
