Because of the dry conditions, a burn ban has been put into effect for Natrona County.  The Natrona County Commission placed partial fire restrictions in place, which include:

Trash and refuse is to be burned only in containers provided with spark arrestors in a 10 foot cleared area, and only between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

Wood fires must be contained in established fire rings

No one shall throw or drop any lighted match, cigar, cigarette or other burning substance in combustible materials, such as weeds or brush, or in the close proximity of combustible materials

No smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site, or while stopped in an area of at least 3 feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable material

Use of fireworks is unlawful

No acetylene cutting torches or electric arc welding except in areas devoid of all vegetation.

No fire or open flames allowed in unimproved areas

Open fires are banned, except in designated areas such as developed recreation sites, and home barbecues.  No other open fires are allowed

Anyone violating the fire restrictions could face a fine of up to $100, and a jail sentence of up to 30 days.
