Here are five random facts to help you get through your day, or that you can use to impress your friends - or not...

1.  Hawaiian pizza . . . with ham and pineapple on top . . . wasn't invented in Hawaii.  It was invented by a guy named Sam Panopolous in Ontario, Canada in 1962.

2.  There are whales alive today who've been alive since before "Moby-Dick" was written . . . in 1851.  They're bowhead whales off the coast of Alaska, and they're over 200 years old.

3.  During the auditions for "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure", KEANU REEVES originally auditioned to play Bill S. Preston, Esquire and ALEX WINTER auditioned to play Ted "Theodore" Logan.  Their parts were switched AFTER casting.

4.  A lot of U.S. presidents have gotten honorary doctorates, but only one actually earned a straight-up doctorate . . . WOODROW WILSON.  He got a Ph.D. in history and political science from Johns Hopkins University.

5.  The average American eats almost a TON of food in a year.  In 2011, the average American ate 1,966 pounds of food . . . or about five-and-a-half pounds of food a day.
