The Iris Theatre will host the 2014 Fly Fishing Film Tour Wednesday, April 9 at
7:15 p.m.

As the preeminent exhibition of fly fishing cinema, the Fly Fishing Film Tour (F3T) is a compilation of fly fishing films seen by more than 50,000 anglers in 160 cities. This year’s lineup will feature greater diversity in both locations and fish species than ever before. Given the world class fishing in the Casper area, local audiences will have much to talk about.

Andy Houck, General Manager of the Iris Theatre, said,

“This is an outstanding event for the fly fishing community. Since Casper is such a top-notch fishing destination, we were surprised that this wasn’t available here yet, so it’s great to be able to bring this to the fishing community. This is the fourth year we’ve had the show, and it gets bigger and bigger every year,”

Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for a Beer Garden and Trade Show hosted by F3T local sponsors, North Platte River Fly Shop, Reef Fly Shop, Ugly Bug Fly Shop, Wyoming Anglers, Cliff Outdoors and Wyoming Fly Fishing Guide Service.

Each of the sponsors will have a booth at the trade show, which provides anglers with the opportunity to get to know vendors, ask questions or just exchange fishing tips. They’re also going to be giving away some prizes like guided fishing trips and equipment.

Supporting local fly shops is one of F3T’s overarching goals, as a portion of discounted, advance ticket sales will directly aid fishing as well as habitat-related conservation groups. These tickets are $15 and can be purchased at any of the sponsoring fly shops as well as The Wonder Bar. Remaining tickets will be $20 at the door.
