It's a well known fact that Girl Scouts cookies are among the tastiest snacks on the planet, especially 'Thin Mints'.

But did you know that Girl Scouts cookies actually vary from state to state?

According to the Los Angeles Times, two major cookie companies supply 'Thin Mints' nationwide. Here in Wyoming, our 'Thin Mints' are produced by the Little Brownie Bakers.

In 29 other state across the country, 'Thin Mints' are manufactured by a company called ABC Smart Cookies.

Not only are 'Thin Mints' made by rival companies, the two varieties taste different too.

Here in Wyoming, our 'Thin Mints' have are dipped in chocolate and have a more subtle peppermint flavor. In other parts of the country, 'Thin Mints' are crunchier, with more mint than chocolate.

Both versions cost the same; 16 cents per cookie, on average. Their nutritional value is also similar. They both average 40 calories per cookie. However, the Little Brownie Bakers cookies, available here in Wyoming, contain slightly more fat, less sugar and lower protein.

As for which version of 'Thin Mints' tastes better, that depends on who you ask.

The two companies also produce different varieties of Girls Scouts Cookies, which vary by region. Here in Wyoming, we have Somoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Trefoils and Savannah Smiles, Other parts of the country have Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwich, Shortbread and Lemonades.
