UPDATE: Golf Ball-Sized Hail, 60-MPH Winds Continue in North-Central Wyoming

UPDATE - 7:53PM: SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY UNTIL 8:15PM MON ...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTHEASTERN JOHNSON AND NORTHEASTERN NATRONA COUNTIES UNTIL 815 PM... AT 746 PM, DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING A STRONG THUNDERSTORM NEAR EDGERTON, WHICH IS 30 MILES SOUTHEAST OF KAYCEE, MOVING NORTH AT 45 MPH. NICKEL SIZE HAIL AND WIND GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM. THIS STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL BE NEAR... LINCH AROUND 800 PM MDT. OTHER LOCATIONS IMPACTED BY THIS STORM INCLUDE SALT CREEK COUNTRY CLUB AND MIDWEST SCHOOL. THIS STORM MAY INTENSIFY, SO BE CERTAIN TO MONITOR LOCAL RADIO STATIONS AND AVAILABLE TELEVISION STATIONS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1000 PM MDT FOR CENTRAL AND NORTH CENTRAL WYOMING.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for south-central Johnson County until 8 p.m. Monday.

At 7:07 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located on radar near Hole in the Wall, some 17 miles southwest of Kaycee, moving north at 35 mph.

Golf ball-sized hail and 60-mph wind gusts pose a hazard.

People and animals outdoors will likely be injured. Hail will damage roofs, siding, windows and vehicles. Wind will damage siding, roofs and trees.

The severe thunderstorm was expected to hit Hole in the Wall at 7:15 p.m., Kaycee around 7:35 p.m. and Mayoworth at 7:50 p.m. Barnum will also be impacted.

The warning includes I-25 between mile markers 245 and 272.

People are advised to immediately move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

Large hail and continuous cloud-to-ground lightning is occurring with the storm.

The National Weather Service reminds people that lightning is one of nature's leading killers. If you're close enough to hear thunder, you're close enough to be struck by lightning.

Heavy rainfall is occurring with the storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive vehicles through flooded roadways.
