Summer is coming to an end and the autumnal equinox is quickly approaching. The rising of the 2016 harvest moon was quite the sight to see.

The harvest moon is the full moon that is closest to the autumnal equinox. A full harvest moon rises at sunset and then will rise near sunset for a few nights in a row. The bright moonlight early in the evening was a traditional aide to harvest crews, thus the name "harvest moon". This harvest moon was captured by Hardy Wolfe around 7:20 PM on September 16th, west of Douglas.
