He’ll Never Make America’s Most Wanted
I love stories like these. They make me feel so good about myself. Shamefully, they also make me feel a little sorry for the dim bulbs they usually center around.
You see, it started off like any other routine home burglary for Timothy Chapek. He'd break in, locate the goods, and make off with his haul. Everything was going according to plan until the owner returned. That's when Chapek's instincts kicked into gear and he did something most other crooks would never dream of...he called 911.
The Smoking Gun is reporting that Timothy, a.k.a. "smooth criminal," panicked, barricaded himself in a bathroom and made his call.
“I just broke into a house and the owner came home,” Chapek told a police operator. “You broke into a house?” the surprised operator responded. “I think she’s got guns,” Chapek added.
The victim, Hilary Mackenzie, made her own 911 call. She told the operator that Chapek told her he was "taking a shower."
