Moist westerly Pacific flow is expected to produce a prolonged period of snow across much of western Wyoming through Friday morning. Some mountain ranges in the western portions of the state could get up to 3 feet of snow.High Wind Warning is in effect for the Casper area  through 5am Thursday. Southwest winds of 30 to 40mph with gusts to 65mph possible.

Winter Storm Warnings are in effect through Friday morning at 5am for western Wyoming. This includes portions of Yellowstone Park, Lake, Mammoth and Old Faithful. The Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains, the Wind River Mountains West, the Salt River and Wyoming Ranges and the Absaroka Mountains. Communities affected include Jackson, Afton, Alpine, Thayne,Pinedale, Evanston, Kemmerer and Cokeville areas.Upwards of 3 feet of snow is expected in the mountains with 6 to 12 inches in the lower elevations. Southwest winds at 30 to 50mph will be associated with this storm.

Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 6pm this evening to 6pm Friday for the Centennial, Albany and Woods Landing areas. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 18 inches with locally higher amounts on the west-facing slopes.

High Wind Warnings are in effect for central and southern Wyoming as well as the Sheridan areas through 5am Thursday. West-southwest winds of 35 to 45mph with gusts to 70mph are possible. Winds along Interstate-80 could be in excess of 80mph.
