There will be plenty of heat around much of the state for the next two days, with highs staying in the 80s and 90s.  The wind starts to increase this afternoon mainly out of the west at 15 to 25 mph, with gusts to 40 mph.  The wind and low relative humidity in much of the state today will lead to extreme fire dangers.  A Red Flag Warning has been posted for much of the state through 9pm tonight.

There will be a handful of thunderstorms along the state’s eastern border later today.  They will be isolated and likely contain more wind and lightning than precipitation.

Friday will feature toasty temperatures in most areas.  Later in the day a cold front will move.  Northern locations will see cooler temperatures on Friday due to the front.  Although the front does not have a lot of moisture associated with it, a few thunderstorms are expected in the north and east.

Cooler, more comfortable temperatures will filter in behind the front for Saturday with highs in the 70s in east.  Further west it will still be warm with highs topping off into the 80s.
