2017 could be a season to remember for Pokes fans. The Wyoming Cowboys football and basketball teams haven't both been this good in three decades.

In 1987, coach Paul Roach's football team finished the season 10-3, earning an invitation to the Holiday Bowl. Earlier that year, coach Jim Brandenburg led the basketball team to the Sweet Sixteen.

Over the years, Wyoming has had some good football teams and some good basketball teams, but not at the same time.

Last season, Wyoming football made the conference championship game and hit the Poinsettia Bowl. Meanwhile, Wyoming basketball won 23 games and claimed the postseason College Basketball Invitational Tournament title.

With two emerging stars, quarterback Josh Allen and guard Justin James, both returning for their junior seasons, expectations in Laramie are almost as high as the 7,220-feet altitude.

Go Pokes!!!
