The music community mourned when singer-songwriter Jesse Winchester passed away in April, when he was only 69 years old. But now, fans will have the chance to hear one more recording from the tunesmith.

'A Reasonable Amount of Trouble,' which Winchester finished recording prior to his death, will be released on Sept. 16 on Appleseed Recordings. Renowned songwriter and producer Mac MacAnally produced the record, which includes nine original tunes by Winchester, as well as three covers. Bluegrass star Jerry Douglas and famed saxophonist Jim Horn both appear on the upcoming record.

The Virginia resident enjoyed a resurgence in his career following the release of his 2009 album, 'Love's Filling Station,' which was unfortunately derailed by his cancer diagnosis in 2011. After being declared cancer-free, Winchester began writing songs for 'A Reasonable Amount of Trouble' before finding out his cancer had returned and was considered incurable.

As news of his diagnosis spread, several of his famous friends rallied to show their love and support, including Jimmy Buffett, who organized a tribute album, with appearances by James Taylor, Rosanne Cash, Lyle Lovett, Lucinda Williams, Elvis Costello and several others.

“When that tribute record happened, I was truly gratified by it,” Winchester said of the project. “But I had so many kind things said to me by complete strangers during my (illness). Providence works out to where you go through something like that, and those are the things you remember. Which is a blessing, isn’t it?”

Winchester passed away on April 11. 'A Reasonable Amount of Trouble' will be available for purchase on Sept. 16 here.
