Keith Urban went all out while visiting ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ to promote his new men’s fragrance and treat fans to a performance of his latest single. During a tongue-in-cheek “commercial” with the talk show host, the singer gave her the shirt off his back — literally.

Discussing how he came up with the name for his new cologne, Urban told DeGeneres, “I have this tattoo on my arm, which I’ve had for a long time, and everyone thinks it’s a phoenix, but technically it’s a Thunderbird. I always liked the name Phoenix… I like the mythology of the phoenix, and I felt like it was the right name for this cologne. I didn’t want something for middle American men to feel awkward saying. I thought Phoenix was a good, safe ground… not too over the top.”

Urban went on to talk about the Phoenix contest he’s hosting, which encourages people to film their own 30-second commercial for the fragrance. DeGeneres then took things over the top with her own contest entry by licking the side of Urban’s face, cooling him off with ice and spraying him with water. “You know that you’re the only woman on the planet that [my wife] would be okay with doing that,” quipped the country-hit maker after the spot aired.

After all the fun and games, Urban performed his next single ‘You Gonna Fly,’ which heads to radio next week.
