Spring has just arrived, and with that comes a new opportunity to learn how to skate with the Casper Ice Arena. The Casper Skating School is offering classes for anyone aged 3 and older, with a variety of cool options to choose from.

Snowplow Sam is "a fun and lively setting for 3-5 year-olds to play and become familiar with the ice" while Basic 1-2 through Basic 7-8 classes give participants "ages 5 & up the the chance to advance progressively.

Tot Hockey introduces "basic skating and hockey skills to skaters aged 3-7." Hockey Skills Development "enhances skating skills for players ages 9-13."

Freeskate classes allow figure skaters "a time to work on more advanced elements with instruction." And Adult Skating gives the grown-ups "the opportunity to exercise and socialize with others interested in ice skating while progressing at their own pace with some instruction."

New sessions begin the week of April 2nd. Classes are offered on either Monday afternoons or Saturday mornings.  Each class is offered at least once a week for six weeks.

You can snag a $5.00 discount on any class registration if you happen to have a current season pass to the ice arena. Scholarships are also available through the Community Recreation Foundation for those who qualify.

Registration can be done at either the Casper Rec Center or Casper Ice Arena, online at www.activecasper.com, or by phone. For additional information regarding the classes being offered, or to register, please call 307-235-8484 or 235-8383.
