UPDATE:

A Lingle man who authorities say shot and killed a baby before turning the gun on himself has died.

Goshen County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Lingle late Thursday night after 33-year-old Jessica Fritzler called 911 to report that her husband, 53-year-old Duane Sylvester, was suicidal.  Fritzler told dispatch that her husband had shot her 4-month-old baby and then himself.

Sylvester was flown by AirLink to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff where he died from his wounds.

The case is still under investigation by the Goshen County Sheriff’s Office and the Goshen County Coroner’s Office.

A Lingle man is fighting for his life after allegedly shooting and killing his baby before turning the gun on himself.
According to Lieutenant Jeremy Wardell with the Goshen County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to a domestic disturbance and suicidal male at 8232 Cemetery Road in Lingle late Thursday night.  The caller, 33-year-old Jessica Fritzler, told dispatch that her husband, 53-year-old Duane Sylvester, had shot her 4-month-old baby and then himself.
Sylvester was flown by AirLink to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, where he is in the trauma ICU.  Fritzler was uninjured.
The case is being investigated by the Goshen County Sheriff's Office.  This is an ongoing criminal investigation.
