Make-A-Wish Event Celebrates Wish Granting In Wyoming
A celebration means very little unless shared with the community who has made it possible. Make-A-Wish Wyoming invites you to share in our celebration of another year of wish granting at the 12th Annual Stories of Light® Gala, November 8,2014 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Best Western Ramkota in Casper.
The evening, consisting of a wine tasting featuring selections from Poplar Wine & Spirits, a gourmet dinner and live auction, will be centered on the influence wishes have had on those Make-A-Wish Wyoming serves. Wish families from across the state will be in attendance to share their experience and the lasting affect a granted wish has had on each of their families.
A variety of exclusive live auction items will be presented, including two original wildlife photography pieces, both from wish children. The first piece is from Cody wish child Sami, who in 2009 wished for a white horse. Five years later, Sami wanted to give back by donating her unique black bear photo taken last winter in Yellowstone National Park. The second wish child photography piece is from eight-year-old Jordi who wished to come to Wyoming to be a wildlife photographer. In addition to the photography, there will be unique University of Wyoming memorabilia, in part comprising of a signed photograph of the world renowned 1942-1943 University of Wyoming Men’s Basketball team. There will also be unique travel packages offered, from a trip to Denver for an upscale holiday weekend to a fishing expedition on the picturesque Big Horn River, to a Mexico getaway. Guests will also have an opportunity to directly grant wishes of Wyoming children during the Fund-A-Wish portion of the event. All proceeds from the event will help grant wishes of Wyoming children battling life-threatening medical conditions.
The community will gather to remember there is nothing more powerful than the hope, strength and joy that come from a wish granted. Whether it is a teenage girl’s pursuit for a room makeover or a young boy’s desire to meet an old friend at Disney World, each wish is representative of a deserving child’s ability to believe the impossible is possible. Be a part of the celebration and you too will be reminded of the power in believing. For reservations, contact Make-A-Wish Wyoming by phone at 307-234-9474 or online at wyoming.wish.org.
