It's really too bad when the most played artist, of any genre on radio, has to spend his time lately being embroiled in lawsuits, but that's how it appears to be going with Tim McGraw, so I guess we won't hold our breath on that new album.

In response to his record label suing him for 'breach of contract,'  Tim has filed a countersuit of his own against Curb Records.  It's no secret that there's been some animosity between both parties for quite a while now.
Tim alleges:
"Curb's 'repeated serial releases of what it characterizes as greatest hits albums is obviously a naked attempt to create a perpetual recording contract, forcing Tim McGraw into a repressive environment of indefinite duration.'"
"Between 2006 and 2010, Curb put out six compilations or variations on hits packages, the latest being Number One Hits last November.  Curb has released a total of seven compilations on McGraw."
"Curb enticed agents for Mr. McGraw to present the unfinished rough mixes under false pretense...to avoid paying the advance for delivering the album."
"Curb charges intentional interference with business relationships, including with 'various entities regarding his Emotional Traffic tour'  and 'created a void' of McGraw's music at radio.
Curb Records said that plan to respond to the countersuit "vigorously."
Curb Records, Tim's recording home for the past twenty years, filed a 'breach of contract' lawsuit with the singer a couple of weeks ago.  Curb stated that by turning in the master recordings to his Emotional Traffic album in late 2010, he was in breach because they were turned over to soon before the release of the album.  His contract as stated, reads that all content must be "topical and new," and that any new recordings must be handed over to the company "no earlier than 12 months and no later than 18 months."  Curb says he did this “in a transparent tactic to attempt to fulfill his contractual recording commitment to Curb prematurely in breach of the recording agreement.”
Yada yada yada...
We just need you guys to make nice and get us some more Tim McGraw!  I guess that's just too much to ask.  We'll keep you posted.
