National Nacho Day! Casper’s Best Nachos
We like them cheesy. We like them spicy. Smothered and covered with beef and beans, we like nachos. National Nacho Day is November 6th, but do we really need an excuse to eat chips and cheese sauce? Originally nachos were an appetizer, but now they are full on entree. Some restaurants even have spin-offs like Italian nachos or BBQ nachos. Whether you dip it, dunk it, fork it, or pile it in your mouth, nachos are just yummy.
I took an unofficial poll at the station to find where the best nachos in Casper are. Here is our list of five favorite places to get your chips and cheese presented in no particular order.
Ponchos Mexican Food
NachosNachos just the way Mama made them ... if Mama was born south of the boarder. Although this is fast food, for Casper this place is good. Classic Tex-Mex that is quick and easy.
Taco John’s
Super Potato OlesFast food gone wrong and it is oh-so-good. Take your typical nachos and replace the chips with Potato Oles. This is definitely not low carb. I've affectionately named this dish "Death by Potatoes."
Old Chicago
Italian NachosNot your typical nachos, but they are delicious. Made with pepperoni, sausage, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoncini peppers, they are sure to delight your taste buds.
The Wonder Bar
Muchos NachosBar food at its finest. Piles and piles of cheese, tomatoes, jalapenos, beef and beans. Plus you can get a beer and possibly catch some live music.
Firerock Steakhouse
BBQ Pork NachosMore like fine dining and nachos. You know when a steakhouse does nachos it will be done with BBQ sauce and pork. This plate of nachos may be on the top of the pay-scale, but good use of the nacho medium.
