Coming up on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, WalletHub gives us 2018’s States with the Most Racial Progress. Wyoming ranks an impressive sixth in the country.

WalletHub simply analyzed where the biggest gaps are still found specifically between blacks and whites. They identified a number of categories where those divides exist, and found their numbers. For the Cowboy State, here is a list of examples:

  • 1st – Change in Median Annual Income Gap
  • 17th – Change in Labor-Force Participation Rate Gap
  • 3rd – Change in Unemployment Rate Gap
  • 26th – Change in Homeownership Rate Gap
  • 11th – Change in Poverty Rate Gap
  • 7th – Change in Gap in % of Adults* with at Least a Bachelor’s Degree

Here are the states just ahead of Wyoming:

  1. Hawaii
  2. New Mexico
  3. Kentucky
  4. Arizona
  5. Texas

See here Wyoming's border states did not do nearly as well.
