The new Hogadon ski lodge south of Casper is just about ready for the winter season, the only thing missing is enough snow.

With the new set-up, skiers don't have to go to one place to rent their skis, and another place to get lessons.

It's all in the same building which also has better handicap accessibility compared to the old buildings.

Jeff Brier is the new Executive Director with Casper Mountain Racers.

He says he did not see the old buildings, but from what he's heard and seen, the new building will be more convenient.

Everything's placed much closer together. The rental is right beside the snow sports school, so it's kind of like you just follow right around the corner, and you keep moving and you're ready to go. You don't have to cross a courtyard to get to the other building, it's all together. Makes everything kind of like one stop shopping.

Christopher Smith is the Superintendent of Hogadon.

He says the new building was needed, because the old facilities were starting to fall apart.

It was pretty run down. Pieces of it had been condemned and I'm pretty much sure that other pieces of it would have been condemned over the next couple of years. The Health Department had already talked to us at length about the kitchen facilities, so it was really getting time.

Smith says new ski lodge is not just designed for ski use, and that it's a year round facility.
