For over 60 years, Dell Burke was an institution in the town of Lusk, Wyoming.

From 1920 to 1978, Burke owned and operated the most famous brothel in the Cowboy State, The Yellow Hotel.

Burke arrived in the bustling mining boom town in 1919 after authorities in Casper had shut down her business in the notorious Sandbar District.

She originally set up shot in a tent before purchasing the Yellow Motel the following year. Using charm and wit, she managed to keep the brothel operating openly until she was confined to a nursing home at the age of 91.

Over the years, Burke also earned a reputation as one of the most generous philanthropists in the area, famously bailing out the local power company during the depression.

Burke's life and career have been the subject of several articles and books since her death in 1981.

Now, a Casper-based group of fimmakers are producing a documentary film about the legendary "lady of Lusk".

Dell Burke and the Yellow Hotel is described as "much more than a wild west whorehouse story. It is a story of love and caring, seen from an unusual perspective."

Producers recently released the first trailer online, along with an Indiegogo crowd-fungding campaign. If all goes according to plan, the full length film will be released in the summer of 2017.
