If you are up late Saturday night, you might want to check out the sky. The Orionid meteor shower will likely be visible above Casper.

Space.com had the scoop on what to expect out of the Orionid meteor shower this weekend. According to them, the peak will begin late Saturday night and carry over into early Sunday morning.

I gave myself a quick science lesson and learned that the Orionid meteor shower is associated with Halley's Comet. Thanks, Wikipedia for making me slightly smarter.

This year's meteor shower may or may not be a sight to behold. Based on the history of what's happened in previous years, there could be anywhere from 20 to 70 meteors per hour visible over us.

The good news is our weather forecast is spectacular this weekend and we should have clear skies all the way through Sunday.
