PhotoFest: Campbell County Posts Road Win Over Rock Springs

After a season-opening loss to Cheyenne East, Campbell County has found some traction in the 4A football ranks with 2 straight wins. The Camels beat Rock Springs on the road 34-14 with a nice effort on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

In the opening quarter, Campbell County's Trent Rosenau scampered into the end zone from 7 yards out to give the Camels a 7-0 lead. Rosenau added a 9-yard touchdown run to 2nd quarter to bump the lead to 14. Rock Springs got back into the game with a 16-yard touchdown completion from Michael Faigl to Kael Anderson to cut the gap to 14-7.

Campbell County had a productive 3rd quarter as quarterback Mason Drube reeled off a 56-yard run for a touchdown to increase the Camel lead to 21-7. The Tigers did answer with a TD of their own as Faigl found Anderson again, this time for 28 yards and a score so it was 21-14. Rosenau was having a great game for Camels as he found the end zone for the 3rd time on a 3-yard run to give his team a 28-14 advantage.

Roseneu added a 4th quarter touchdown on another 3-yard run as the Camels are 2-1 on the year and will be at home this week against Cheyenne South. It has been tough sledding for Rock Springs lately as their coach Theodore Holmstrom was placed on administrative leave and the Tigers are 1-2 after a season-opening win over Kelly Walsh. Rock Springs will have a tough game this Friday when they travel to Sheridan.
