There are lots of ways to save some money around the house and some of your appliance could be running up your electric bill.

If your refrigerator is running constantly it could be that dust and pet fur are smothering the heat-dissipating condenser coils.  Those are the coils located at the back or beneath your fridge.

Before you schedule a service call, try this possible fix.  Simply clean them off using a condenser coil cleaning brush (less than $10).  This simple maintenance should be done at least once a year to help prolong the life of your refrigerator and will help save you a few bucks each year on your utility bills.
