A Casper man along with two teenagers, are accused of causing damage to as many as 64 vehicles, and maybe more, in the Oil City.

Twenty-two year old Renaldo Curley has been charged with one felony count of property damage.

Investigators with the Casper Police Department say from Tuesday night, June 14th, through Thursday night, June 16th, the vehicles were either spray painted with either pink or black spray paint, had their side mirrors smashed and/or had their tires slashed.

The majority of the vehicles were either in the Paradise Valley or the Explorer/Tree neighborhoods.

Just before midnight on Thursday, a citizen heard someone near his house, then yelled at him.

The male then got in an older white Ford Explorer and then fled the area.

An officer saw the suspect vehicle a short time later on CY Avenue and followed it to a residence in Paradise Valley.

Police discovered that Curley and two male teens had been in the vehicle, and all admitted to spray painting some cars and the teens had spray paint on their hands.

A wrench, spray paint cans and a knife were found in the vehicle they had been in.

When interviewed all three said the vehicles were chosen at random, and the teens said they were having a competition over who could spray paint the most cars.

They had planned to go out one more time on Friday and then quit, because they felt the risk was becoming too great.

Renaldo said he got caught up in the moment, and he was hanging out with the juveniles, because he didn't fit in with anyone and they were his friends.

He added the damage would have been limited had he not been involved and was driving the other two around town.

Total damage is estimated to be at around $20,000, and investigators are still trying to determine who did what to which vehicle.

Curley is awaiting trial on $20,000 bond, and he could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Charges against the juveniles are pending.
