The Reveille Rotary Club of Casper is offering transportation for seniors over 60 to the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra’s performance Saturday evening, October 4, 2014 to John F. Welsh Auditorium at Natrona County High School. This is the fourth season that the Reveille Rotary Club has partnered with the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra to provide transportation to citizens who prefer not to drive at night and to minimize the need to find a parking spot. Arrangements for the evening can be made for everyone who already holds a Symphony ticket as well as for those who need a ticket.

Anyone 60 years and over wishing to get a ride to the performance must call Carolyn at 235-8384 to reserve a spot no later than Tuesday, September 30. There is no charge for transportation or for registering; however, a donation toward the price of the ticket is appreciated if feasible. Those who register will be given a general admission ticket to the event, if needed, and a ride from home to and from the concert.

The October 4 event, “From Russia with Love,” kicks off the 65th anniversary season of the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra and begins with the drama and passion of two of the most famous and powerful works from the Russian repertoire. Modest Mussorgsky’s universally cherished Pictures at an Exhibition, orchestrated brilliantly by Maurice Ravel, opens this year’s season with the pomp and majesty befitting a grand occasion.

Taiwanese sensation Ching-Yun Hu, winner of the 12th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition, will be performing the monumental first piano concerto of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The Wyoming Symphony Orchestra is directed by Matthew Savery in his seventh year as Music Director.
