Reveille Rotary Offers Transportation For “Seniors To The Symphony”
The Reveille Rotary Club of Casper is offering transportation for seniors over 60 to the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra’s performance Saturday evening, December 6, 2014 to John F. Welsh Auditorium at Natrona County High School. This is the fourth season that the Reveille Rotary Club has partnered with the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra to provide transportation to citizens who prefer not to drive at night and to minimize the need to find a parking spot. Arrangements for the evening can be made for everyone who already holds a Symphony ticket as well as for those who need a ticket.
Anyone 60 years and over wishing to get a ride to the performance must call Carolyn at 235-8384 to reserve a spot no later than Tuesday, November 25. There is no charge for transportation or for registering; however, a donation toward the price of the ticket is appreciated if feasible. Those who register will be given a general admission ticket to the event, if needed, and a ride from home to and from the concert.
The December 6 event, Ode to Joy, is considered not only one of the greatest pieces of music ever written, but one of the greatest achievements of the human spirit. With its highly innovative structure of emotional depth, intensity and musical splendor, and its powerful and jubilant chorus celebrating the brotherhood of mankind, Beethoven’s 9th speaks a universal truth just as relevant today as it was when composed in 1824. With a quartet of renowned soloists, and a choir of 250 voices, this promises to be a most inspirational concert. Special guests for the December 6 performance include: Christy Lombardozzi, Soprano, Claire Shackleton, Mezzo-Soprano, Steven Tharp, Tenor, Anton Belov, Baritone, the Natrona County High School Chorale, Kelly Walsh High School A Cappella Choir, Combined Casper College Choirs and the Casper Civic Chorale. The Wyoming Symphony Orchestra is directed by Matthew Savery in his seventh year as Music Director.
