CHAMPAGNE WISHES AND SHOWER DREAMS

A California man was popped for burglary after allegedly breaking into a home, helping himself to some champagne and food, and then taking a shower.

The homeowners had been out and called 911 after getting home and hearing someone in their shower.

25-year-old Michael Calvert was arrested at gunpoint, while he was still soaping up.

Calvert was booked for investigation of residential burglary.

BULLETS OVER BARBELLS

A weightlifter in Modesto, California, pumped some lead into himself after accidentally dropping a dumbbell on a bullet and shooting himself in the shoulder

The man, who as not identified, told Modesto police he was lifting in his home when he dropped the weight on a .22-caliber bullet.

Police say the man's story is suspicious, but not impossible. A gun was not found in the home, but police did find shell casings.

SEWER BLING

An Idaho woman is flush with happiness after city workers found the $6,000 wedding ring she accidentally dropped in the toilet 18 months ago.

Municipal workers Travis Fleming and Carey Knight spotted the ring in a filter while cleaning a sewer line. They took it to the mayor's office and news of the ring's discovery quickly spread.

City Hall was flooded with calls from people across the country who claimed the ring belonged to them ... until Mechelle Rieger showed up with a photo of the seven-diamond ring and an appraisal from the jeweler who made it.

"I received a voice mail from a friend and I just started screaming in the car," Rieger said. "I was like, 'Oh my gosh that's my ring.'"

Rieger said the ring fell off a ledge in a restroom she was using and "plopped in the toilet right as the toilet was flushing."

We're sure she was bowled over by the discovery, especially since Mechelle and her husband will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversay in June.
