Rodeo Rick
Having worked in radio since 1986, my travels have taken me from Dallas, TX to Sacramento, CA to Boise, ID and now here to Wyoming. Most radio people strive to work in the “Big” markets, and I was no exception in my early career. But that wasn’t the life for me! I enjoy a small town, with a great atmosphere and friendly hospitable folks along with a place to wet a line one in awhile.
Growing up in Austin, TX I played sports, went hunting and fishing and enjoyed listening to and watching the legends of country music perform. My love for radio and announcing came in my teenage years, as I bumbled my way through the daily morning announcements at Sidney Lanier High School. It was only a couple of years later, I got my first radio job at the beginning of my freshman year at Texas A&M in Commerce, TX working for the college radio station KETR.
I’ve earned college degrees from 2 different universities – Texas A&M University in Commerce and Boise State University in Boise, Idaho.
The decision to move to Wyoming came in October of 2007, as I got the chance to come here. One short year later, I was honored with the 2009 WAB Award for – Best Public Service Campaign in a Major Market.
My interests include a love for college football and I really enjoy watching games at War Memorial Stadium! Go Pokes (and yes, I root for Boise State too)!!
Having only been in Wyoming for only a little over 4 years, I’m in the process of exploring and discovering all the wonders Wyoming has to offer. I’m an avid outdoorsman and love camping, hunting, fishing, and just being in the great outdoors. If you have any suggestions of places for me to try exploring, camping, fishing or hunting, simply shoot me an email or message me on Facebook or Twitter.
