When artists release a song to the world, they also release a music video. A couple of weeks ago, my friend and longtime singer/songwriter Skip Ewing released a new song called "Wreck of My Heart." Skip has released the music video that goes along with the song.

Skip has been a Wyomingite for quite a few years physically, but mentally, he's been a Wyomingite for well over 20 years. Since moving here, he's released an album titled "Wyoming." almost all his music videos feature Wyoming's beauty, and Wyoming products also make their way into the videos. Skip enjoys Wyoming so much that he was kind enough to give a Wyoming radio personality a guest role in the "Wreck of My Heart" video.

I've been a part of the radio side of the music industry for almost 30 years, and I can finally say I'm in a music video.

I've always thought it would be cool to do some acting, but I never had the chance until now. Ok, I use the word "act" very loosely because I only drove my truck and offered a hitchhiker (Skip) a ride. It wasn't the most challenging acting role you could ever have, but it was fun doing it.

If you've never been part of something like that, like me, you don't realize how much work goes into the process. The music video doesn't happen overnight; there are weeks, and sometimes months, of planning. You have to find the perfect concept that works with the song, pick out a location, find your cast of characters, and shoot hours of video. Then, you edit the video to the exact length to accompany the song. I've gained much respect for what the artists and their teams go through to create quality music and videos.

Skip and his lovely wife Linda work together to combine all these elements. It's incredible to watch their creativity in action. She shoots different angles multiple times and gets that perfect shot. I could see Linda putting this video together in her mind while videoing every piece. So cool to see.

My part of this video was shot in about 3 hours, including a radio show segment recording in front of the Northern Arapaho Child Support Program building in Riverton, WY. There wasn't a big cast and crew trailer or a large production truck; this production had two extraordinarily creative and talented people...and me.

Thanks, Skip and Linda, for letting me be part of this incredible experience.
