The Naked Gun

Cops in Washington state are on the lookout for a wanna-be burglar who's described as in his 20s, about 5-foot-8 with a thin build and wearing a stocking cap – but no pants!

Homeowner Dianne Lavalley says that she and her husband were awakened by the barking of their dog and ran downstairs just in time to see the crook sprinting away empty handed. When she went to the videotape in the family's security camera, she says "We were like OMG, I couldn't believe my eyes. It was shocking that there was actually somebody there with their pants on their ankles."(KXLY)

A fast-food loving counterfeiter gave a whole new meaning to the phrase "dollar menu" by trying to pass some phony bills at a Tennessee McDonald's, then opting to eat the funny money when authorities showed up to grill him.

Adam Dillingham and two accomplices tried and failed to get employees to accept the bogus bills at an IHOP before moving on to the Mickey D's, where they thought they'd have better luck. The manager didn't fall for it, and made a call to cops, who arrived just in time to see Dillingham stuff his face with the bills – but managed to get him to spit out the evidence and charge him with several crimes. (WCYB)

Smurfed Into Submission

An Australian man was left feeling a little bit blue after he was beaten up by four guys dressed as Smurfs – who were angry because he declined to hand over and light a cigarette as demanded by their ringleader.

The victim says the body-painted man, who was done up to look like Papa Smurf, approached him inside a convenience store to ask for a smoke,  and when he refused, the blue dude turned red and attacked. The other three, who were allegedly trying to jump-start a car in the store's parking lot, joined in for a bit, then fled.

All four – three 19-year-olds and an 18-year-old – have since been arrested after handing themselves into police. (Daily Mail)
